Modern Fringe is a new Denver hair salon concept from 20-year stylist Melana Baca.
Melana’s intuitive haircuts thoughtfully accentuate your favorite features—eyes, cheeks, collarbone—and her expert color-mixing enhances your natural beauty. With an emphasis on clear client communication, Melana’s goal is to keep you current and on-trend, or empower your signature classic style—your call.
Melana is a Denver hairstylist, cutting and coloring in an Observatory Park hair salon suite in the University of Denver area; Modern Fringe is an artful, airy salon suite in the brand-new Image Studios, which offers free covered parking (and ample street parking) at 2496 S. University Blvd.
A travel-loving Colorado-born CU-Boulder grad, Melana has worked in salons throughout Colorado and California. She lives in Denver’s Lincoln Park neighborhood with her husband Ricardo, two cats Paloma y Amigo and chiweenie June Carter, a.k.a. “the sweetest potato.”

Service pricing is subject to change, depending on product usage, timing and your end goal. Any potential changes will be communicated prior to your service.

Please note: To respect everyone’s time, clients will be charged 50% of their intended service fee for no-shows and cancellations less than 24 hours out.

This service is for you if you need a little color refresh up to 8 weeks after your last color session. It may include a base color application, custom toning service, or mini light session to brighten the hairline around the face. This experience includes a curated haircut.
MAINTAIN SESSION
Typically 2.5-3.5 Hours-

Maintenance services are exactly that… maintenance for your current color! This service is for you if you are looking to maintain your look with some slight changes. It may include a partial highlight and/or lowlight, or to refresh one color all over with little to no dimension. This experience includes a curated haircut.
MAJOR SESSION

Ready to make a statement?

This service is for you if you are looking for a complete color transformation. It may include a full highlight and/or lowlight, or full blonding service. This service is also for guests going from light to dark or vice versa. This experience includes a curated haircut.

The full deal. Shampoo, head massage, and a curated haircut just for you. Whether you want to chop off a few inches, or completely change your cut - sit back and relax, you’re in good hands. Blow dry and style included.
Refresh Haircut

Looking to refresh between cuts? Or are you looking to maintain your low-maintenance style? This service is for you if you are looking to get rid of split ends, clean up your neckline, or reshape your fringe. Great for wash-and-go cuts or those looking to grow out current lengths. Shampoo and quick-dry included.
Short Length Haircut
45 Min-
Shampoo, head massage and a curated short-length haircut. (Select this service if you are looking for a typical men's cut.)
PROFESSIONAL HAIR TREATMENTS
Time Varies-
Milbon Moisture Professional Treatment: This add-on service is for you if you’re looking to liven up your dull or dry hair with an in-salon professional treatment. This 5-step deep-conditioning treatment (done at the shampoo bowl) leaves hair shiny and color more vibrant. Adds an additional 15 minutes to your booked service.

Milbon Repair Professional Treatment: This add-on service is for you if you’re looking to repair and reconstruct your damaged and overprocessed hair with an in-salon professional treatment. This 4-step deep conditioning treatment (also done at the shampoo bowl) is designed to strengthen and rebuild severely damaged hair. Adds an additional 15 minutes to your booked service.

BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT
1.5-2.5 hours-
This Brazilian Blowout service is for you if you’re looking to improve the condition of your hair while eliminating frizz and reducing blow-dry time. This smoothing treatment creates a protective protein layer around your hair shaft and works with all hair types.
